Yoga & Pilates

Yoga and Pilates use controlled movement to develop areas such as strength, balance, flexibility, posture and body awareness. Classes can vary considerably, from calm and restorative sessions to more physically demanding practices.

Some sessions place greater emphasis on stretching, relaxation and breathing awareness, while others focus on core control, stability, mobility or building strength through carefully guided movement. Classes may be available for complete beginners as well as people with an established practice.

The right studio or instructor can help you understand the pace and level of a class before you begin. Anyone recovering from an injury, living with a health condition or unsure whether a particular class is suitable should seek appropriate professional advice and tell the instructor before taking part.
