TownConnect was created to make local information easier to find.
We are based in Rhondda Cynon Taf, surrounded by towns and communities such as Pontypridd, Treorchy, Tonypandy, Aberdare, Llantrisant, Porth, Mountain Ash and many more. Living in and around the area, we know how useful it can be to have one simple place where people can find local businesses, services and helpful information.
The idea for TownConnect came from our own experience. When you move to a new area, visit somewhere you do not know well or need a local service quickly, it is not always easy to know where to start. Useful information is often spread across different websites and social media pages, and sometimes it is not online at all.
In our area, many small businesses and local services are not easy to find online because they do not always have a website or active social media page. Some rely mainly on word of mouth, which means they can be difficult to find, especially for people who are new to the area or searching online for the first time.
TownConnect was created to help make those businesses more visible. We want to give local businesses, trades and services a place where people can discover them more easily, while helping residents and visitors find the information they need without searching across lots of different places.
For now, TownConnect is focused on building a local business directory for Rhondda Cynon Taf and nearby areas, helping people find businesses, trades, services, places and useful contacts more easily. Our aim is to support local businesses, especially those that are not always easy to find online, while giving residents and visitors a simple place to discover what is available around them.
As the platform grows, we would love to expand further across South Wales, including Cardiff, Newport and Swansea. Bristol is also an area close to us after living there for many years, and one we would like to include in the future along with more towns, cities and regions across the UK.
Our long-term goal is to build a useful local platform where people can find information in one place. Whether you are looking for a business, a service, something to do, or practical local details, we want Town Connect to become a helpful starting point.
As Town Connect grows, we will continue adding new information and improving the platform. Our purpose remains the same... to help people discover the local places, businesses and services around them.
